Our hearts go out to our countrymen affected by the rains and flooding. There is much we can do to help bring emergency relief where it’s needed. Instead of the usual blog, we are sharing a list of places and organizations for those of you still looking for where you can lend a hand.
UPDATE: Local and international comic book artists are generously donating original artwork, prints, books, and other items to help raise funds for the flood victims. The donations will be auctioned on eBay very soon. Please stay tuned for more details! If you wish to receive email updates on the auction, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject “AUCTION”.
Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street is a drop-off point for donations to Angel Brigade. Angel Brigade will repack the goods and deliver them straight to evacuation centers in need.
What sort of donations are needed? Bottled water, instant noodles, ready-to-eat food like biscuits, canned goods with pop tops (evacuation centers may not have can openers), milk in tetra packs, and vitamins. You may also get in touch with Angel Brigade at 8970383/8970307, or through Facebook and Twitter. They have relief operations that you can volunteer for too!
Don’t know where the relief operation centers are located? Find them on Google Maps.
A consolidated Twitter watch can be found here.
Mindanao is also organizing relief drives. If you’re from Mindanao, you may find out how you can help on Mindanaoan.com.
Keep safe and dry!
